CAPPADOCIA - EPHESUS
Day 9 - June 5, 2025

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel for a full-day tour of Ephesus. The ancient city of Ephesus is a prime example of a Roman port city, with a sea channel and harbor basin. It was the Hellenic capital of Greece and the capital of the Roman Empire's Asia Province. Ephesus was an important city in economic, geographic, political, and cultural terms. Many classical philosophers still read today, such as Heraclitus, lived in the scientific, cultural, and artistic atmosphere of Ephesus.

After entering through the Magnesia Gate, we will begin a slow descent down the hill with our guide. The route includes stops at the Odeon (concert hall), the Varius Baths (used as a gymnasium), Prytaneion (administrative offices where religious ceremonies, official receptions, and banquets were also held), the Agora (Ephesus' commercial market), the Temple of Hadrian (dedicated to Emperor Hadrian, Artemis, and the people of Ephesus), Trajan's Fountain (built in honor of Emperor Trajan), and the Great Theater. The theater had seating for 24,000 people and is believed to be the site where Saint Paul preached to the Ephesians. It is still used today for a local spring festival.

House of the Virgin Mary: located near the top of Mount Bülbül, one of the hills overlooking Selçuk. After the death of Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary went to Ephesus with John, where she lived until her death at the age of 101.

End of the tour. Transportation to the hotel. Overnight stay in Kusadasi.

EPHESUS
Day 10 - June 6, 2025

After breakfast, pick-up from the hotel to continue to Pamukkale. This is a magical, unique place, a natural wonder with its dazzling white terraces. The thermal waters rich in limestone and salts that flow over the edge of the plateau form these beautiful stalactites, waterfalls, and pools. The healing waters have been used for therapy since Roman times, and today visitors can walk in these pools, which cause calcium carbonate to disperse like a jelly.

Hierapolis: known as the "Holy City" due to its many temples and religious buildings, it is located on the same plateau as the thermal pools. This site offers visitors a glimpse of the natural wonders of the region and the cultural riches added by humanity. This ancient city is situated 20 km north of Denizli, and is famous for the buildings and artifacts uncovered during extensive excavations. Ancient geographers such as Strabo and Ptolemy claimed that Hierapolis was a Phrygian city, due to its proximity to Laodicea and Tripolis, cities located near the border of the Caria region.

End of the tour. Transfer to the airport. Flight to Istanbul. Arrival at Istanbul airport and transfer to the hotel.
